Hello and Welcome to Ben Franklin Elementary School!
Located in the heart of Midtown Harrisburg, Ben Franklin Elementary School has been a cornerstone of the Harrisburg City School District for over 40 years. Our dedicated team of teachers, support staff, and administrators take great pride in creating a safe and productive environment for our students, parents, and community members.
As we embark on the 2025-2026 school year, our mission is to engage students in grade-level learning that is dynamic, affirming, and meaningful. Beyond academic success, we are committed to teaching our students essential 21st-century skills such as collaboration, problem solving, and empathy. At Ben Franklin, we recognize that everyone has rough days, and we emphasize the importance of supporting one another during challenging times. This spirit of acceptance and assistance is a hallmark of our school community.
Our Ben Franklin family is dedicated to aiding everyone who walks through our doors. We work closely with the community to support those in need and to promote success in academics, behavior, and social-emotional well-being. This year we will be implementing new processes and procedures at Ben Franklin including a hot breakfast option, the Pickup-Patrol dismissal application and electronic forms to help aid in the completion of the first week forms packets for parents.
We are especially excited to welcome our new Pre-K and Kindergarten students, as well as families transitioning from other elementary schools due to the district's new reconfiguration plan. Our family engagement specialists, counselors, and social workers are eager to help new families acclimate to Ben Franklin and are available to answer any questions you may have before or during the school year.
